Train the Trainer

Mentor the Trainer

In my experience in developing trainers I found out that most of them do not get enough professional feedback about their performance.

That means they don´t get the chance to grow by being aware of the impact their behaviour has on the participants and their learning success. Besides they don´t get the opportunity to learn from other trainers nor do they get the right support to develop their key competencies.  

My 3 steps Mentor the Trainer program can be combined with the Train the Trainer program:

Step 1: Supervision

The best way to give sustaining feedback to trainers is to observe professionally their key competencies and the corresponding behaviour in their training deliveries. In my supervisions I observe around 100 behavioural anchors that allow me to give a structured and detailed feedback. During the feedback session we share our impressions, observations and design a personalised development plan to improve their key competencies.

Step 2: Support

In Step 2 we combine the practical work phases of the development plan with support sessions. The sessions help to reflect on the practical experiences, to deepen the learning and to ensure the achievement of their goals. The content of the sessions depend on the goals and can be delivered in form of Mentoring (Modeling of an expert trainer) or Coaching. Each session is focused on real life situations and challenges of a trainer.  

Step 3: Effectiveness check

At the end we check the achievement of the development plan and the improvement of the key competencies with the most suitable tools: observation, inquiries, assessment, KPI analysis, etc.
